Team Replicon reigns supreme as Eaglemasters draws record field

Winners of the recent 16th Eaglemasters with their trophies.

A record field, back-to-back titles, and four aces. That’s way too much to measure success.

The 16th edition of the Eaglemasters Golf Tournament wrapped up in spectacular fashion Sunday night, capping off four days of intense competition across Davao’s premier golf courses with a record-breaking turnout and a dominant title defense.

Tournament chairman Randy Cadiogan opened the awards and fellowship night at SMX SM Lanang with heartfelt gratitude. “We’re overwhelmed by your tremendous support. With 775 players, we nearly breached the 800 mark — a feat we didn’t expect given the upcoming PAL Interclub next year, also in Davao,” Cadiogan said, drawing laughter as he quipped about players struggling to get spousal approval for back-to-back Davao trips.

Team Replicon proved untouchable, defending their crown with a commanding 414 Stableford points — a staggering 67-point margin over runner-up Team RMC (347). Led by skipper Alexander Bisera, Replicon’s young guns Ronel Tagaan, Adrian Bisera, Nino Villacencio, and Matt Pineda delivered from tee-off to final putt. Team PDR rounded out the top three.

Flight A: Zamboanga’s Ambagan Regulars Dominate

Zamboanga’s Ambagan Regulars, composed of Kenneth Naro, Frankie Custodio, James Ian Sabado, Wilmer Linuaje, and Pherham Saiddi, cruised to victory in Flight A with 387 points, outpacing Davao’s Fore the Boys/Bong Trucking 1 by 25. Team Brittannika 1 claimed third.

Flight B: Davao’s Fore The Boys Edge Out Rivals

In Flight B, Fore The Boys/Bong Trucking R1 of Davao City — Rommel Lee, Reinz Yamyamin, Bong Tesado, Kirby Abdullah, and Cri Babol — edged out Forefathers 1 by a single point with a 319 total. SAFTI Zamboanga secured third.

Eaglemasters president Leo Magno thanked teams from Baguio, Zamboanga, South Cotabato, Visayas, Mindanao, and host city Davao.

Seniors Division B: Ambagan Seniors Hold Off Final-Day Surge

Ambagan Seniors of Zamboanga held firm to top the Seniors Division B with 411 points, resisting a final-day rally from Team Edge-Davaogolf.com. The Davao squad, led by columnist Chito Malabanan and teammates Ben Bonador, Caloy Leyba, Felix Enofre, and Raul Roldan, surged with 136 points on Sunday to finish second. Apo Golf’s Indian Seniors completed the podium.

Hole-in-One Heroes

Four golfers etched their names in Eaglemasters lore with aces: Warren Lee Dagupon (Hole #6, Rancho Palos Verdes), Julius Magallanes and Jomar Salvador (Hole #13, South Pacific Golf), and Andrew Bautista (Hole #7, Apo Golf).

Giving Back and Looking Ahead

The men behind the tournament.

Eaglemasters president Leo Magno thanked teams from Baguio, Zamboanga, South Cotabato, Visayas, Mindanao, and host city Davao. “Daghang salamat sa inyong suporta,” Magno said, announcing a ₱360,000 donation to the tournament’s scholarship foundation and a raffle of ₱50,000 each for 20 lucky golfers.

With camaraderie, competition, and community spirit in full swing, the Eaglemasters continues to soar — setting the stage for an even bigger showdown next year.
