Four days of thrilling drives, clutch putts, and unshakable camaraderie came to a rousing close as the 33rd Durian Tee Golf Tournament wrapped up at the picturesque Apo Golf and Country Club. With over 330 golfers teeing off in double-barrel starts at dawn and midday, the tournament once again lived up to its billing as the country’s longest-running Member-Guest golf spectacle.
When the final putts dropped and the scorecards were tallied, it was the powerhouse tandem of EJ Casintahan and Roderick Lo who emerged as the Overall Team Gross Champions, carding an impressive 160 points over four days of consistent, high-caliber play. Not far behind, the formidable pairing of Milton Cua and Jeff Hong clinched the Overall Net Team title with a stellar 181 points, showcasing precision and synergy on the fairways.
In the individual categories, Don Breganza delivered a masterclass in ball-striking, firing a 107 to seize the Low Gross Champion crown. Meanwhile, Carlo Senase proved that smart, steady golf wins the day, tallying 124 points to claim the Overall Net Champion title.
Tournament director Juan Karlos Albas was lauded for orchestrating a seamless event, while Apo Golf board president Sec. Leo Magno paid tribute to the collective effort behind the scenes. “My utmost appreciation to the board of directors, the management and staff of Apo Golf, and our generous sponsors and benefactors,” Magno said. “But most of all, to you—my fellow golfers—maraming salamat. See you all next year for our 34th edition.”
With pristine weather, slick greens, and a spirited field, the 33rd Durian Tee delivered a showcase of sportsmanship and skill. The use of preferred lies ensured pace of play remained brisk, while the challenging course conditions tested every facet of the players’ games. More than just a tournament, it was a celebration of friendship, tradition, and the enduring love for the game.
