First Davao Japan Friendship Cup Tees Off

The First Davao Japan Friendship Cup Golf Tournament officially kicked off, gathering 58 dedicated golfers—a vibrant mix of Filipino and Japanese players—eager to compete for the coveted team and individual awards.

This two-day event, designed to foster goodwill, cultural exchange, and golf tourism between Davao and Japan, began with a ceremonial tee-off led by distinguished local and diplomatic figures.

While the challenging first day at South Pacific Golf has laid the groundwork for the leaderboards, the tournament is only halfway complete. The field will now conclude the final round of the two-day showdown at the picturesque Rancho Palos Verdes tomorrow, Saturday, where the first-ever Friendship Cup champions will be crowned.
