After a tough opening match in the first week of the Pickle Yard Conference League, the Cebuana Lhuillier Gems responded with three straight victories, climbing to second place in the latest standings. Their early setback only highlighted the squad’s ability to regroup quickly as the competition heats up.
Led by Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier and managed by Grace Woo, the Gems have steadily built momentum behind a roster composed of Johnny Arcilla, Diana Hughes, Jessy Lira, Jen Cayetano, Arianne Gajasan, Hakim Boloto, Cyril Robeniol, and Sofia Nipa, with different players contributing across matches as the team continues to build chemistry throughout the league.
According to Lhuillier, the team’s response after the early setback reflects their focus and determination throughout the tournament. “We are proud of how the Cebuana Lhuillier Gems responded after their early setback. Their ability to regroup and deliver three straight wins shows the team’s resilience, discipline, and strong teamwork. It’s inspiring to see them represent Cebuana Lhuillier with such passion as they continue to compete in the Pickle Yard Conference League,” he said.
Following their opening loss, the Gems recorded three consecutive wins over the Philex Vanguards (4–1), Pertua Stallions (3–2), and Fortrust Masters (3–2), helping them quickly climb the standings during the past two weeks of competition.
Currently, the Gems are just behind league leaders Born2Win PH Forex Bulls while staying firmly in contention with other top teams such as the Philex Vanguards and the Dentacare Pearly Whites. With the season still unfolding, the Gems remain a team to watch as they aim for the top spot.
