Eala named in Forbes Asia ’30 under 30′

Filipina tennis star Alex Eala has been included in the Forbes Asia “30 Under 30” list, which recognizes young leaders and rising talents across the region.

Eala was named under the Sports category, which highlights emerging figures “on court.”

In an article published by Forbes, Eala shared via email that the support she has received has been overwhelming.

“Tennis can sometimes feel quiet and serious, so having that energy makes it special,” said Eala, who began playing tennis at the age of four.

A Forbes report also noted that Eala was represented as the highest-earning Filipino tennis player of all time last year, earning about $876,000 in prize money. Her endorsement deals—including Nike, Babolat, and Philippine food conglomerate NutriAsia—were estimated to have exceeded $1 million and are projected to grow to around $3 million this year.

Her inclusion in the list was also marked by her career milestone of breaking into the world’s Top 30 WTA rankings, reaching a career-high of World No. 29.
