The San Antonio Spurs kept their season alive in emphatic fashion, overpowering the Oklahoma City Thunder 118–91 in Game 6 to level the Western Conference Finals at 3–3 and force a decisive Game 7.
Led by 28 points from Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs controlled the contest from the opening minutes and never allowed the defending champions to settle. Backed by an energized home crowd, San Antonio played with urgency and precision, especially from long range, to flip the momentum of the series after a setback in Game 5.
Coming off the bench, Dylan Harper added 18 points and provided a crucial scoring boost that helped extend the Spurs’ early advantage. Wembanyama also contributed 10 rebounds and 3 blocks, anchoring a defense that repeatedly disrupted Oklahoma City’s rhythm.
San Antonio came out firing, with Wembanyama quickly establishing his presence on both ends—hitting early perimeter shots, protecting the rim, and helping the Spurs jump to a fast 9–2 lead. The Thunder, led by MVP star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, struggled to find clean looks as the Spurs’ defensive pressure forced difficult mid-range attempts.
The Spurs’ shooting was especially lethal in the first quarter, draining eight three-pointers to build an early cushion. Although the Thunder narrowed the gap to seven by halftime, they were completely overwhelmed in the third quarter as San Antonio unleashed a 20–0 run.
Oklahoma City’s offense collapsed during that stretch, missing shot after shot and going more than seven minutes without scoring. The Thunder managed just 13 points in the quarter, allowing the Spurs to surge into a commanding lead.
With the margin stretching beyond 25 points late in the fourth, both teams emptied their benches as attention shifted to the upcoming winner-take-all Game 7 in Oklahoma City. The Spurs’ home crowd closed the night in celebration, sensing that the series is now perfectly poised for a dramatic finish—while the winner will advance to face the surging New York Knicks in the NBA Finals.
