Weathering soggy fairways and nervous pre-tournament jitters, golfers gathered for the 3rd edition of the Fore 3-2-1 Golf Team Tournament, competing across two premier venues: South Pacific Golf Club for the Team Ambrose format and Apo Golf & Country Club for the Team Aggregate event.
Despite heavy Saturday rains that left Tournament Director Bates Bulecer sleepless with worry, the skies cleared just in time by early morning.
“Mabuti na lang tumigil ang ulan by early morning,” shared a relieved Bulecer, though “winter rules” were strictly enforced across both courses to accommodate the rain-soaked fairways.
Rising above the competition, Team Disney—composed of Stewart Arjon Yap, Bryan Kim Baguilod, and Joerick Anticamara—put on a masterclass performance to capture the prestigious Overall Team Champion title. Meanwhile, Team Iron Ladies (Rose Bell, Charlita Domingo, and Andrea dela Cerna) dominated the distaff side to claim the Overall Team trophy for the ladies.
South Pacific Golf (Ambrose Format): Team Sultans of Swing (Saripoden Mutin, Noel Credo, and Robin Nicholas Lo) clinched the Men’s Ambrose title, while Team Par Tee Rada (Bridget Cordero, Kaira Herrera Davila, and Mika Del Leon) took top honors in the Ladies’ division.
Apo Golf (Aggregate Format): Team Highway (Mark Lester Jalon, Antonio Perona Jr., and Robin Jay Fajardo) proved their depth to bag the Men’s Aggregate title. On the women’s side, Team Birdie Bells (Stella Patruno, Maribel Lee, and Evelyn Quinsay) took home the Ladies’ Aggregate crown.
A Night of Surprises and Celebration
As the final putts dropped, a downpour returned in full force, but it didn’t dampen the spirits inside the San Josue Resort venue. Golfers were welcomed into a legendary post-tournament banquet featuring a mouthwatering spread: lechon baka, four whole roasted pigs (lechon), a feast of local Filipino dishes, and two giant tuna crafted into fresh sashimi, all complemented by unlimited drinks.
A live band kept the crowd energized between program gaps, seamlessly weaving through a raffle draw that boasted perhaps the largest prize haul the city has ever seen. The minor raffles provided a glimpse of what to expect as the night goes on as a total of 250,00 cash prize where raffled off with the merchandise and appliances giving the golfers an appetizer. On top of major raffle prizes—including two motorcycles and two flat-screen TVs—organizers stunned the crowd by dropping a surprise ₱100,000 cash prize for the men and two ₱50,000 cash prizes for the ladies after the main prizes were handed out.
Expressing his deep gratitude, Fore the Boys (FTB) President Bobong Tesado remarked:
“It is with great pleasure to thank and appreciate the support of the Fore the Boys group, all our sponsors, but most especially to you—all the golfers. You have been supporting us for the last three editions, and hopefully, we will have a much bigger competition next year.”
Fueled by live music, overflowing food, and high-stakes prizes, the celebration stretched all the way to midnight, marking another unforgettable chapter for the Fore 3-2-1 tournament series.
