DAVAO CITY, PHILIPPINES — The 17th Eaglemasters Golf Tournament concluded its four-day, 54-hole run in spectacular fashion, confirming its status as the region’s premier golfing event. A massive field of 898 local and international players across 153 teams tested their skills against three of the region’s legendary courses: Apo Golf and Country Club, Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club, and South Pacific Golf and Leisure Estate.
The unforgiving nature of the host courses provided a stern challenge and endless entertainment. Throughout the tournament, golfers surrendered a combined 9,996 pars, 1,215 birdies, 15 eagles, and a relatable 11,724 pickups a testament to the high-stakes, highly competitive atmosphere.
Lightning Strikes Twice: The Yamyamin Family Legacy
The highlight of the 17th edition came on September 19, 2026, at Apo Golf, where lightning struck twice in an unprecedented display of family luck and precision.
At approximately 8:50 AM, Reinz Jordan Yamyamin aced Hole No. 11. Barely two hours later, before the applause had even faded, his father, Joel Yamyamin, duplicated the feat by sinking an ace on Hole No. 17. The father-and-son duo not only created tournament history with their back-to-back aces on the same course and day, but the heroic shots also fueled a dramatic comeback for their team, The Fore the Boys-R1. Overcoming a 9-point deficit on the final day, the team surged ahead to capture the Flight A Team Championship by four points.
“Making a hole-in-one is extremely rare in a tournament setting, but witnessing two aces on the same day by a father and son is almost improbable,” said Tournament Chairman Sec. Leo Abellera Magno during the awarding ceremony. As a gesture of appreciation for their historic achievement, Sec. Magno announced that both Joel and Reinz Jordan Yamyamin are granted lifetime exemptions from entry fees for all future Eaglemasters tournaments.
Bisera Claims Overall Crown; Grand Prizes Awarded
Top Davao amateur Alexander Bisera stole the individual spotlight by dominating the field to take the Overall Gross Crown, posting a total of 116 Molave points over three rounds. Bisera’s stellar performance spearheaded his squad, Davao Modern Glass and Modular Cabinets, to the Championship Division Team Title.
The tournament culminated in a festive awarding ceremony filled with camaraderie, entertainment, food, and drinks. Participants celebrated as over ₱1,000,000 in cash and premium merchandise were raffled off. The night’s biggest winner was one lucky golfer who took home the grand raffle prize: a brand-new BYD Atto 2 DM-i Dynamic.
A Triumph of Commitment and Tradition
Organized by the non-profit Eaglemasters organization, the event overcame early uncertainties to set new benchmarks for participation and executive delivery.
“A few months ago, we had doubts about whether this year’s edition would push through,” admitted Sec. Magno in his address. “Thanks to the unwavering commitment of nearly 900 golfers, our generous sponsors, and steadfast friends, we persevered to deliver what is now the biggest and most successful Eaglemasters tournament in history.”
