RDR defends GMA

DAVAO CITY – Davao del Norte Gov. Rodolfo Del Rosario came out strongly in defense of Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo saying the Chief Executive has done a lot of things than what his critics are trying to portray her. In an interview with Sonshine TV network beamed worldwide, Del Rosario said that the political opposition and other groups coming from various ideological persuasions are making an issue out of the survey ratings which had PGMA at the lowest rung. “The President”, del Rosario stressed, “is not interested in popularity contest. She refuse to use government resources to prop her popularity”, he said. Governor del Rosario, who once served in the Arroyo cabinet, asserted that the President should be judged by what she has done for the country. He said that in terms of infrastructure projects implemented in Mindanao, President Arroyo has delivered a lot more than his predecessors. In that score, Governor del Rosario rated Arroyo as one of the best presidents the country ever had. The Davao del Norte governor said that in his province alone the president has allocated substantial amount of money which are now translated into projects. He cited the ongoing concrete road construction that traverses vast and untapped agricultural lands from Talaingod town in Davao del Norte to Valencia City in Bukidnon. The highway, he said, will be completed before the term of PGMA ends.
