Tagum’s SK Chair wins OSKAR’ 09

Tagum City – Participated by more than 4,000 members of SK from different parts of the country, SK Chair Lucky R. Valera of Barangay Magugpo South, Tagum City grabbed the highlight as National Awardee on the Search for “Outstanding Sangguniang Kabataan Awards and Recognition (OSKAR) 2009” during the SK National Congress last October 27 to 30, 2009 held at Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center, Olongapo City Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) empowers the youth in local governance as it gives them an avenue to express freely and serves as their access to be heard in the society.
The award was given by the National Youth Council (NYC) and Sangguniang Kabataan National Federation inspired by the theme “SK: Ako ang Pagbabago.” OSKAR aims to recognize those SK Chairpersons whose accomplishments of projects and programs are fully implemented with innovations. The five (5) finalists for the OSKAR’ 09 in Barangay Category are as follows; Baguio, Bukidnon, Cebu, Bohol and Tagum City. [CIO TAGUM]
