In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, Davao del Norte Governor Rodolfo del Rosario asked for forgiveness from those whom he may have offended while at the same time forgiving those who had hurt his feelings.
Del Rosario, who is unopposed as he seeks reelection next year, said he has already forgiven his critics, particularly those who had attacked the policies, programs and projects of the provincial government under his leadership.
“Kung kinsa may napasakitan nako niining naghinapos nga tuig, ako nagapangayo kaninyo ug pasaylo. Ug kung kamo usab nakasala kanako, napasaylo na mo nako (I ask forgiveness from those whom I have offended this passing year. In like manner, I have already forgiven those who ha hurt my feelings),” the governor said during a recent Christmas gathering of the local media at the GSP Building, Mankilam, Tagum City.
Gov. Del Rosario said he is keeping this yearly tradition of compassionate feeling and a willingness to forgive in order to start the New Year right “with a clear mind and a fresh mandate” in serving the best interest of the people.
At 75, the governor has become an institution in pro-poor local governance.
Since entering politics 32 years ago, Del Rosario has been an active voice from Mindanao exacting wider resources allocation from the national government to move Mindanao, pa+rticularly Davao Province, from the backwaters of development to one that is robust and competitive.
Today, Governor Del Rosario continues to chart the future of the province in response to the changing development trends. [Nobags]
His minimum basic needs (MBN) approach to development, now with the RDR WHEELS impact agenda as its vehicle, has been making a great difference in attaining the vision for a “higher quality of life for all Dabaonons”.
As he seeks reelection next year, the governor is determined to continue the development momentum of the province with the on-going implementation of the P235-million stimulus fund for the 339 various infrastructure projects in all the 223 barangays of Davao del Norte.
With the near completion of the Talaingod-Bukidnon Road, in tandem with the other locally and nationally-funded projects in the province, Del Rosario is confident that his vision of a premier Davao del Norte is just about to happen.
