LGU-Kapalong’s tax collection surpasses the target by 31.9 %

The Local Government Unit of Kapalong under the leadership of Mayor Edgardo L. Timbol, achieved its 7.2 M target for business taxes collection for the year, 2009, as declared by the LGU and even surpassed it by 31.9% or P 2,303,443.98.
The Municipal Treasurer’s Office (MTO), together with the Business Permit and License Section declared that they were able to generate  income from Tax revenues worth P 9, 503, 443.98 in 2009.
It was indeed a great success not only for the two offices but for the whole LGU since it will benefit all the constituents of Kapalong.     “I’m so happy na-meet namo ang target. Isip usa ka empleyado, ug dugay na sa panerbisyo, it’s so fulfilling in our part to see the fruit of our labor,” Mrs. Sherlina Arrocena, the License Bureau In-charge, said.
“The taxes paid contribute much to the realization of the infrastructure projects, basic services and livelihood program of the LGU. With the people’s cooperation of religiously paying their taxes, we were able to give them those services due to them,” Mayor Timbol stressed.
This year, the LGU’s one-stop-shop program was jam-packed by local investors. This only proves that gradually, the trust of the mass to the government is enriched because they are giving their all out support to the programs of the LGU. The program provides systematic way of getting business license for the clients’ comforts. Through this program, local business investors could renew and get their license in an easy and as fast as 30 minutes of transaction, provided that the requirements are completely furnished.
“Dako kaayo og gikatabang kini nga activity kay through giving convenient way of processing their papers, they will likely respond to the invite of the LGU,” Arrocena added.The number of licensees during the period of one-stop-shop, which is for the first 20 days of January every year, is doubled.
Aside from the MTO and License Bureau , the success of the program is also due to the joint effort of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Department of Trade and Industry,  Municipal Engineering Office and Ecological Solid Waste Management Program.
