May 10 elections for RP’s future generations–RDR

by Noel Baguio

Davao del Norte Governor Rodolfo del Rosario has asked his people to vote wisely in the May 10 elections, by electing the most qualified candidates to lead the nation and its administrative divisions.
Saying this election is for the future generations of Filipinos, Del Rosario urged his constituents to take advantage of the country’s first automated elections and ensure that their votes are not only for the right candidates but are counted correctly.
“We are looking at the future… this is not our generation anymore. This election is for the future generations,” he said, adding this might be our last chance to attain stability, growth and even greatness as a nation.
He noted the country is in a precarious situation in the aftermath of natural calamities and in the aftermath of the global financial crisis.
He said that if Filipinos do not elect a good president this time, the country will surely spiral down the drain.
But, if the people elect a good president, he assured “there is a big chance that we can rise up to be a great nation once again.”
Del Rosario, who runs unopposed in his reelection bid, stressed the country needs God-fearing leaders with unquestionable integrity, who have the moral ascendancy to govern and bring transformation to the land.
He said the next national and local officials must possess the qualities of a good leader “if we are to break status quo and attain unprecedented growth and development.”
“This is our last chance and I hope we use it properly for the sake of our province, our country, and for our children,” he said during the last convocation program at the Bulwagan ng Lalawigan.
The governor then suspended the regular Monday morning convocation so he could continue to campaign for his candidates.
He assured that the regular Monday morning gathering of Capitol employees will resume right after the elections.
