AGR on the road to recovery

Doctors at the Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto City, California, USA have declared Rep. Anthony del Rosario (first district, Davao del Norte) as completely cured of his lymphoma disease.
AGR’s father, Gov. Rodolfo del Rosario, who arrived recently from the U.S. said AGR underwent three chemotherapy treatments in a first-rate hospital there. The governor was in the U.S. to celebrate his birthday with his son.
“I am very thankful to God that Anthony was declared cured by his doctors,” the governor, his face showing relief.
However, the young congressman has to remain in hospital for another couple of months to undergo stem cell or bone marrow transplant procedure. His doctors had  recommended that AGR stay on for observation to ensure his lymphoma will not recur.
“With the bone marrow transplant the chance of lymphoma to recur is reduced to the lowest level,” the governor said, who added that he was returning to the U.S. to be with his son who doctors said needs to be isolated for one month, after which he would have to rest for another month to fully recover from the procedure and be home, hopefully, for Christmas.
The congressman had earlier undergone six chemo sessions at the St. Luke’s Hospital in Makati City last year. However, his lymphoma recurred, probably due to stress brought about by the election campaign early this year.
