Governor Rodolfo del Rosario welcomed Vicente “Enteng” Floirendo as the new chairman of the provincial chapter of the Liga ng mga Barangay of Davao del Norte.
Floirendo was elected chair during the league’s organizational meeting held at the Golden Palace Hotel in Tagum City last December 17.
Del Rosario said, “I welcome Vicente and the rest of the new set of FABC officials. Rest assured that under my leadership, the provincial government of Davao del Norte will give you the necessary support,” he assured.
Floirendo is serving as the new barangay captain of Adecor, Kaputian District in the Island Garden City of Samal.
His victory as FABC chair completes the required three ex-officio members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of the province.
The provincial federation of Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elected Kapalong SK chair Katerine Estrada as their new president last December 10. The Philippine Councilor’s League (PCL)-DavNor chapter elected Panabo City councilor Janrey Gavina as its president earlier.
The governor said he expects Floirendo to be able to work together with the other provincial officials in serving the best interest of the Dabaonons.
“It is a huge task. After winning you are all expected to perform your respective jobs as public servants,” he said.
The 42-year old Floirendo holds a B.S. in Business Administration degree, major in marketing, from the American College of London in the United Kingdom.
“My thrust is to help all the barangays of Davao del Norte, that is why I am here,” he said.
He said his model in public service is his older brother, Antonio “Tony Boy” Floirendo, Jr., who also became an FABC chair of the province before becoming a three-term congressman from the 2nd District of Davao del Norte
Tony Boy witnessed his youngest brother take his oath as new FABC chair.
The younger Floirendo expressed his wish for the total recovery and eventual return from hospitalization of 1st district congressman Anthony del Rosario early next year. [Noel Baguio/DavNor PIO]
