In Mati City It’s Rabats vs Rabats

WHOEVER wins in the 2013 mayoral race in Mati City, the Rabat family name will surely occupy the two top posts for the next three years.
This is because two Rabats are running for mayor and two other Rabats for vice mayor in next year’s election.
Running under the Liberal Party are incumbent Mayor Michelle Rabat with younger brother and incumbent board member Eric Rabat for vice mayor.
Confronting them are Vice Mayor Carlo Rabat for mayor, and incumbent Councilor Glenda Rabat for vice mayor. Carlo and Glenda are first cousins.
All four Rabats are relatives since all of their fathers are brothers. Michelle and Eric’s father was the late first Mati city mayor Francisco “Paking” Rabat. Carlo is the son of the late Mati mayor Luis Rabat. Glenda is daughter of late Mati mayor Benito Rabat. [Ben O. Tesiorna]
