Nabunturan, Compostela Valley — A total of 38 Holcim Galing Mason trainees received their Masonry National Competency (NC) II certificate during their graduation rites on November 6, 2017 at the Social Hall, Provincial Capitol, Nabunturan, Compostela Valley.
“Bagama’t po ito’y sinasabi nating pagtatapos, ito po’y simula pa lamang ng lahat,” said Reinfeld Collado, Holcim Galing Mason lead trainer.
Dubbed as Gawad Kalinga Build cum Holcim Galing Mason Training, it aims to provide skills training to informal sector, displaced worker and less fortunate individual in the province.
The Provincial Government of Comval through Public Employment Service Division partnered with Holcim Philippines, Inc. to conduct a 20-day on-site training. The company provided all the materials needed for the training such as cement, and training kits such as uniform, shoes and hard hat. They also shouldered the payment for assessment of the trainees. Meanwhile the provincial government provided their foods and accommodation.
The skills assessment was conducted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on Oct. 27, 2017 at New Berjaya, GK Village, Brgy. Pasian, Monkayo.
Comval Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy, in his speech, promised that the PLGU’s effort would not end there. “With the PESO office mangita pud mig pamaagi nga ma link pud mo. Ma link mo sa uban kompanya para makatrabaho dayon mo diretso.”
With this, the graduates of Holcim Galing Mason trainees and NCII passers underwent a job interview by the D.M. Consunji, Inc (DMCI) construction companies last November 6, 2017 at the capitol lobby.
The graduates were also thankful for the opportunity given to them.
“Mapasalamaton kaayo ko kay panalagsa ra ni siya nga oportonidad na gi offer nga mo skwela ka dayon trabaho diretso,” said Domingo Racho, Jr.
“Maayo kaayo ang pagtudlo sa amoa walay nakulang og sobra sobra pa ang amoang nakat-onan,” Luisito Hisula added, who was recognized as the best mason in their batch.
