Comval Gov. Uy, Supt. Solitario ink MOA for work immersion

Compostela Valley Province — Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy and School Division Superintendent (SDS) Dr. Reynante Solitario of the Department of Education ComVal Division Office officially signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for Work Immersion Program on January 8, 2018 at the Capitol lobby.

Conjoining the forces of DepEd and Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) as parties, they look forward with the successful implementation of Work Immersion of the Senior High School (SHS) under the K-12 basis.

There will be 391 students from ComVal who will be immersed as public servants in the Capitol and will render services in a span of 80 hours.

The work immersion program is one of the key features of the SHS. It will help on the development among learner’s life, career skills and will prepare them to make decisions on post-secondary education or employment. Accordingly, this undertaking takes charge on the exposure of the students and familiarizations with the work-related environment which is related to their field of specialization.

As students going through this undertaking, they are motivated with these objectives, namely: to gain relevant and practical industrial skills, to appreciate the significance and application which is taught in the classroom, to enhance their technical knowledge and skills to prepare them to meet the needs and challenges of employment after their graduation.

“Hopefully, our learners in the work immersion in the provincial capitol would be able to appreciate the importance of the application of the principles and theories learned in school and enhanced their technical knowledge and skills with the help of our government fellow workers,” said Solitario. (Jazel Sarte//id comval)
