Compostela Valley Province—-The provincial government under Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the PAMANA program of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) turned-over financial and livelihood assistance to the Civil Society Organization’s (CSO’s) on July 19, 2019 at the Provincial Capitol, Cabidianan, Nabunturan, Comval.
The Php300,000 livelihood assistance was formally given to the eighty-two (82) accredited beneficiaries for the CSO’s of the province as they were the priority of the said project as identified conflict affected areas during the conduct of the ceremonial launching of cheques and the awarding of CSO accreditation to Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of PAMANA projects.
Gov. Uy together with PAMANA National Director Andres S. Aguinaldo, Vice Governor Maricar Zamora, DSWD Regional Director Mercedita P. Jabagat, 10th Infantry Division Commander Major General Jose Faustino Jr., and 1001st Brigade Commander BGen Gilbert F Saret led the turn-over of cheques to the beneficiaries.
According to Governor Uy, “Naghatag kitag financial and livelihood assistance sa mga accredited CSO’s sa probinsiya ug giprayoridad nato ang mga CSO’s sa mga kumunidad nga dugay ng naapaektuhan sa armed conflicts sa probinsiya.”
“We thank the DSWD and the PAMANA program of the OPAPP for helping these CSO’s access help. Kining atong gibuhat para kini sa mas malinawon ug malambuong komunidad,” the governor added.
Aside from the 82 CSO’s beneficiaries, another 5 District-I Congressional Referral for the SLP associations also received a total of Php450,000 each as their livelihood assistance.
The SLP is a capability-building program for poor, vulnerable and marginalized households and communities to improve their socio-economic conditions through accessing and acquiring necessary assets to engage in and maintain thriving livelihood. #YEStoDavaoDeOro (Rey Antibo, ID Comval)
