Three waterless days in parts of city slated

SOME parts of Davao City will be waterless for the next three days with the Davao City Water District set to tap pipelines from its mainline on September 25, 28 and 29.
DCWD spokesperson Imelda Magsuci said that on Tuesday, Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (eight hours), Dona Luisa Teachers Village and its immediate environs will be waterless for the tapping of the newly installed 4-inch diameter Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) pipeline to the existing 6-inch diameter mainline.
On the same day from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (four hours) water service interruptions will be implemented in four housing villages in the southern part of the city for the tapping of pipelines to the mainline.
The third schedule will be on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday, or a total of five hours at the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) and its neighboring areas for the tapping of the newly installed 4-inch diameter PVC pipeline to the existing 6-inch mainline.
Magsuci said water supply may be restored earlier if work goes on smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise.
She said downtown residential areas may experience low pressure and appealed for understanding and store water in clean containers. [ASA]
