The InfoCom Federation Brunei and the Information Communication Technology of Davao City will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on November 9, 2012 at the atrium of the Abreeza Mall.
The MOU will highlight special collaboration with the ICT industry in Davao City.
Lizable Holganza, president of ICT Davao, said, “We already have collaboration with them through the BIMP-EAGA group, but we will formalize the tieup with them because medyo matagal nang iniimbitahan tayo ng Brunei na makipag-collaborate sa kanila for women empowerment and for Rural Health Outreach project ng BIMP-EAGA.”
InfoCom Brunei is made of private businesses that deal with telecom and IT.
“This is a good news for us because Brunei wants to seek opportunities here,” Holganza said. They are also interested to look into prospective industries, tulad sa facilities natin and food processing potential, bukod sa ICT,” Holganza added.
ICT Davao arranges tours for InfoCom Brunei for them to see other areas that could propagate business to business matching.
“Hindi lang para sa ICT group para na rin sa food processing,” she added.
Meanwhile, Davao Software Industry Incorporated president Sam Matunog said, “it’s good because this is a regional initiative, government to government initiative to promote closer link in the area of ICT.”
The MOU signing is part of the three-day culmination of research milestones and production breakthroughs in Mindanao, the Innovation Expo and ICT-BPO Roadshow  on November 9 to 11, 2012 involving ICT exhibition showcasing ICT products and providers in Davao and Mindanao industry and career talks in the ICT-BPO Roadshow for the Next Wave Cities and Healthcare (Research and Development) Expo showcasing healthcare organizations from ICT pharmaceutical and health management organizations.
