On Jan. 10 – 13: Water interruption in some city parts

Davao City Water District has scheduled three sets of water interruption affecting some parts of the city to pave way for separate system improvement projects.
First set is on January 10 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and will affect Calinan Proper and Abayon Village. Said interruption is needed to allow DCWD’s crew to tap the newly installed 4-inch diameter Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) pipeline to the existing 4-inch diameter PVC pipeline for the mainline improvement at Calinan Public Market. New service connections can be accommodated once said project is completed.
Second set is a six-hour water cut from January 11 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM affecting the entire SIR Phase 2 in Matina. DCWD will install a bypass line for the mainline replacement project at said area.
Third set is from 6:00 PM of January 12 until 6:00 AM of January 13 and will cause low pressure to no water in the areas of Benedictine Sisters Rd., Manggahan Village, Sunnyville Subd., Josefina Village, Talomo Teachers Village I, PLDT Subd., Mandaya – Talusa Village, PNB Village, New Washington Village I & II, Talomo Cemento, Talomo Proper, Talusa Village, Solariega Subd., AR Village, Versari Village, Gulfview Executive Homes, Puan, Lower Rapnaga and Castro Village. DCWD’s crew will install a butterfly valve bypass line and 350mm diameter pressure regulating valve at Talomo.
Both second and third sets are among the many projects that DCWD has to help reduce non-revenue water.
Acting general manager Edwin V. Regalado also appealed for the continued understanding and cooperation of affected customers and likewise advised them to store enough water prior to the scheduled water interruption as water supply may be restored earlier if work goes smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise.
