5.2 quake hits Surigao

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology (PHIVOLCS) announced a magnitude-5.2 quake and at least two aftershocks shook the Surigao area in Mindanao on Black Saturday.
While the tremor was initially measured at magnitude 4.2, it updated its bulletin to indicate the quake was magnitude 5.2.
PHILVOCS said the initial quake was recorded at 9:50 a.m., with the epicenter at 27 km northeast of Burgos town in Surigao Del Norte.
It said the quake was felt at:
Intensity IV: General Luna, Siargao
Intensity III: Burgos, Surigao del Norte
Intensity II: Surigao City
An Intensity IV quake is described as “moderately strong” and is “felt generally by people indoors and by some people outdoors.”
PHILVOCS recorded an aftershock at 9:54 a.m., with the epicenter at 22 km northeast of Burgos.
The aftershock was measured at magnitude 3.8 and was felt at Intensity II in General Luna, Siargao, and Burgos in Surigao Del Norte. (PNA)
