In her state of the province address (SOPA) yesterday in Amas, Kidapawan City, North Cotabato governor Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza highlighted accomplishments in animal dispersal and freshwater fish production programs during her three-year term.
In the presence of some 8,000 of her constituents, including barangay, municipal and provincial officials, Mendoza bared the accomplishments of her administration under the “Serbisyong Totoo” program that she has been advocating.
Under her administration, more than P34 million worth of farm animals were distributed to farmers while a total of P4.69 million was allocated to freshwater fish production.
“Capital for agricultural development and the expansion of rubber, palm oil and cavendish banana plantations were poured into the province by big businesses that have given employment opportunities to thousands of North Cotabato residents,” the governor added.
Moreover, 24 solar driers were constructed in some municipalities at a cost of P10 million while a total of P55 million was allocated for the development of an agri-center in the province.
For infrastructure, P27.340 million was allocated for the asphalting of eight road sections in the province, P59.787 million for 27 multi-purpose covered courts, P71.282 million for 128 units of multi-purpose buildings and P21 million for the electrification of 19 barangays.
Governor Mendoza also highlighted the health program of the province through its “no refusal policy” being implemented in the provincial and district hospitals.
In accordance with the Millennium Development Goals (MGD) set for North Cotabato, the provincial leadership was able to expand its program on immunization where 94 percent of children since 2011 were vaccinated to reduce child mortality.
Child birthing facilities were also established in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas to improve maternal health.
She also bared that North Cotabato also recieved the Seal of Good Housekeeping from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and P25 million which was utilized to rehabilitate the Napanlahan-Dallag road in Arakan town.
Mendoza thanked her constituents, particularly the barangay, municipal and provincial officials for their continued support of the programs and projects of the province.
