INDIAN’S COHORTS TOLD TO SURRENDER

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director urged Senior Superintendent Vicente Danao Jr. urged the six other cohorts of an Indian national who allegedly masterminded the abduction of a fellow Indian last week to surrender to the police.
“I advise these guys to surrender. Kung ikaw yung least participant baka pwede pa kitang gawing witness (If you are the least guilty I can probably make you a witness),” Danao told reporters in interview.
Danao withheld the identities of the six cohorts as the police are still conducting their operation.
“We have already identified the location some of the six cohorts,” he said.
Danao said the six were the drivers and “errand boys” of the group hired by Jerry Singh to abduct Jaspar Singh Malih last week.
Danao also requested the public to report to the police if they notice any suspicious people hiding in their place.
“Kung alam niyong may illegal diyan (If you notice anything illegal), you report it immediately,” he said.
Meanwhile, the victim told reporters that he still fears for his life even though Singh is already in jail because the latter’s cohorts might harm him.
Malih, however, said his money lending business will continue despite the possible threat from the suspects who are still at large.
The DCPO yesterday filed kidnapping and serious illegal detention cases against Singh and his cohorts Josephine Onas, who is his live-in partner, and brothers Noel and Bobby Onin for allegedly abducting Malih.
The suspects were submitted for inquest procedure before the City Prosecution Office.
The suspects were arrested by joint forces of the DCPO, Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG), and Task Force Davao (TFD) on April 10.
