Island Garden City of Samal Mayor Al David Uy bared that the groundbreaking activity to commence the construction of the P150 million-worth new City Hall at sitio Maag in Brgy. Penaplata, Samal District is slated on March 7.
In an interview Tuesday, the first-termer mayor added that the project is still on pre-procurement stage but “not beyond March or April next year” the new City Hall of the island would be completed.
The construction of the project identified by Mayor Uy early last year as one of his priorities will be made on Turn Key Basis. It is to be funded out of loan from Development Bank of the Philippines approved last year.
The old City Hall, actually the municipal hall of the then municipality of Penaplata, is located at
Datu Taganiog St., Brgy Penaplata, some 5 kms to the new site. It has been used after the creation of IGACOS from three municipalities in 1998.
As published on the website of the local government unit, the Turn Key Basis under Purchase Request No. 2017-12-4204 will be for the following works: structure excavation, embankment, concrete works (ground floor), masonry works (ground floor), steel works (first floor), tile works (first floor), glass works, fire bricks, sidewalk, electrical works, painting works, ceiling works, portland cement concrete pavement, spptic vaults, catch basin and drainage.
Completion of the Works required is 540 calendar days. Bidders should have completed, within ten (10) years from the date of submission and receipt of bids, a contract similar to the Project.
The pre-bid conference was just made last Monday and the opening of bids would be on February 12.
