The city government of Davao is set to release anytime Executive Order (EO) “no vaccination, no renewal” of contracts policy among City Hall employees, including job orders, and contract of services, by January 1, 2022.
Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has ordered to make vaccination mandatory among city hall employees including job orders and contract of services by December 31, 2021, or their contracts would not be renewed next year.
“Ipagawas ni nato anytime ang EO. It’s already final and cleared by the City Legal Office and we are set to release it anytime for the information of all city government employees including JOs and contract of services. So no bakuna, no renewal of contracts by January 1, 2022,” the mayor announced on Monday.
For plantilla employees, the mayor said it would be a case for insubordination if they don’t get vaccinated.
The mayor has been urging the Dabawenyos to get vaccinated as protection against the ill effects of Covid-19.
As of August 31, 2021, the city registered a high percentage of vaccination rate at 48-49 percent for the first dose or 590,318 individuals given the first dose and 27-28 percent for the second dose or 329,203 fully vaccinated individuals.
Meanwhile, the city government’s mobile anti-Covid vaccination drive has now reached the far-flung areas to inoculate indigent residents under the priority group A-5. The drive covered Barangay Suawan in Marilog District and Baguio District.
Based on the report of the Davao City Vaccination Cluster, as of September 1, 2021: Priority A1 (health care workers) there are a total of 58,035 administered for the first dose and 44, 486 for second dose; Priority A2 (senior citizens) 87,394 first dose and 80, 811 second dose; Priority A3 (persons with comorbidities) 158, 290 for first dose and 115, 304 for second dose; Priority A4 (essential workers) a total of 264, 599 for first dose and 91, 092 for second dose; Priority A5 (poor population) 37, 116 for first dose and 8,357 for second dose.
There are a total of 605,434 vaccines administered in the first dose and 340,050 for second dose.
The city aims to inoculate 1.2 Million by November to reach herd immunity.
