Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II urged Dabawenyos to take a break off their busy lives and enjoy the shows and activities in the recently opened Pasko Fiesta sa Davao 2022 celebration.
With the theme “Dan-ag Davao ug Pag-Abli sa Pasko”, Pasko Fiesta is a month-long celebration packed with Christmas activities showcasing colorful lighting, joyous performances, and arrays of decorations in different areas of the city.
Rigo, who attended the opening with son Tres, said, “daghan man ang kabag-ohan sa atong palibot tungod sa pandemya, pero kini naghatag kanato ug opportunity para ma-realize ang importance sa family and friends ug para i-enjoy ang atong palibot. Unta kada usa kanato will be able to enjoy the blessings and also kaning mga activities ug pasundayag sa Pasko Fiesta.”
He also emphasized that, although restrictions such as wearing a face mask are now optional following the release of Executive Order (EO) No. 71 Series of 2022 or an order adopting Presidential EO No. 07 series of 2022 allowing the voluntary wearing of face masks indoor and outdoor setting, Dabawenyos should still be cautious and reiterated to continue observing the minimum public health standards (MPHS).
Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte led the lighting ceremony of the giant Christmas tree and the city lights that illuminate the entire area of the City Hall on Thursday evening.
The crowd was also treated to a 3D Mapping Christmas show at the City Hall. This will be played every night to delight Dabawenyos this Christmas.
