
Amidst the busy charter anniversary month for Davao City, Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II urged the Dabawenyos to practice the culture of security by adopting vigilance in their way of life.
In 2019, the city government of Davao and Task Force Davao launched the campaign “May Nakita? Dapat Magsalita!”.
Rigo reminded Dabawenyos, specially during occasions like Araw ng Dabaw and Ironman 70.3 where large number of people converge, to immediately report suspicious individuals and activities to security forces to ensure that act of terrorism will not happen in the city.
“Tabangan nato ang city government pinaagi sa pagtawag ug pagreport aning mga suspicious individuals and activities,” Rigo said.
Rigo said Davao City may not face a direct threat from terrorism now, yet, nonetheless, Dabawenyos shouldn’t let their guard down in the face of terrorism.
Major Mark Anthony Tito, chief of the DPAO of the 10th ID, said Davao City and the Davao Region remained insurgency free since the declaration in October last year.
“Nagpabilin ta nga insurgency free and we are happy and gald to announce that since the declaration of Davao Region as insurgency-free katong October until now walay nahitabo na violent and non-violate NPA initiated klaro na nga manifestation nga insurgency-free na ang atoang area of responsibility specially Davao Region. wala tay threats from groups and walaya trocitiies na nahitabo specially in Davao City,” he said.
