The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported strong gains in its law enforcement efforts in 2025, with a total of 5,153 arrests across the city, showing improvement compared to 2024.

In a media briefing on Wednesday, DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Caballero shared key accomplishments from the past year, including operations against illegal drugs, gambling, wanted persons, and loose firearms.

On illegal drugs, Caballero said that operations rose from 1,398 in 2024 to 1,646 in 2025, while arrests increased from 1,793 to 2,009.

She said the value of confiscated shabu reached P67.7 million, up from P58.2 million the previous year, while marijuana seizures also increased, though cases filed slightly decreased from 2,277 to 2,193.

For operations against wanted persons, Caballero said the number of operations increased from 1,908 to 2,136.

On illegal gambling, operations grew from 488 to 722, while cases filed rose from 485 to 718.

On loose firearms, operations climbed from 361 to 434, and cases filed increased from 133 to 149.

Caballero also cited Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) records, stating that traffic incidents in Davao City dropped 7%, from 3,307 in 2024 to 3,082 in 2025, while the number of vehicles involved decreased 11%, from 6,472 to 5,813.

DCPO acting Director Col. Mannan Muarip said the results reflect intelligence-driven operations, continuous patrols, and strategic actions aimed at curbing crime and strengthening public safety.

He emphasized that all operations were conducted with respect for human rights and the rule of law.

Muarip also credited the partnership between the police, local government units, barangay officials, and the community as key to achieving these results.

He urged Dabawenyos to continue cooperating and reporting incidents to help maintain peace and order.

“These results show what we can achieve when the police and the community work together. Our accomplishments for 2025 are a testament to shared responsibility, trust, and our common goal to keep Davao City safe, disciplined, and secure,” he said.
