City honors partners in ‘Garbo sa Dabaw 2026’

The city government of Davao recognized outstanding individuals, organizations, and institutions for their contributions to the city’s development during the Pasidungog: Garbo sa Dabaw 2026 awarding ceremony on Friday at the SMX Convention Center Davao.

Organized by the Davao City Investment Promotion Center, the program highlighted the vital role of partners from the private sector, civic organizations, development institutions, and other stakeholders whose initiatives continue to support the city’s progress.

In a message from Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, who is currently in The Hague, Netherlands, he reaffirmed the city government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration across sectors to achieve its long-term vision. The message was delivered by Acting Mayor Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II.

“As we pursue our vision of a globally livable city and a center of excellence in governance, investment, tourism, climate change adaptation, disaster resiliency, and sustainable growth, we continue to implement initiatives that drive socioeconomic development by empowering citizens and fostering multisectoral collaboration,” the mayor said in his message.

The statement also underscored the importance of recognizing partners who have contributed to key areas such as business development, taxation, infrastructure, education, social services, public safety, health, environmental management, tourism, sports, and culture.

“To all the awardees, congratulations ug daghang salamat kaninyong tanan for your serious dedication and strong commitment to providing vital socioeconomic support, promoting inclusive and culture-based community engagement, and carrying out social support services to sustain our city’s growth and development,” the message added.

The recognition program aims to acknowledge initiatives that significantly support the city’s development across various sectors while strengthening partnerships between the local government, businesses, and communities.
