
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) acting City Director Col. Mannan C. Muarip said the conduct of the Parada Dabawenyo on Saturday was generally peaceful.
Muarip, who personally led area security monitoring during the parade, said the DCPO ensured the safe and orderly conduct of one of the city’s biggest events.
The parade procession, which was participated in by 198 contingents from various sectors, culminated at San Pedro Square, where key officials, guests, and community leaders gathered to celebrate the 89th Araw ng Dabaw.
DCPO personnel were strategically deployed across key areas, managing crowd control and maintaining public safety throughout the event.
“We made sure that all security measures were in place to guarantee the safety of everyone attending the Parada Dabawenyo. Our personnel were fully deployed and coordinated to ensure a smooth and peaceful celebration,” Muarip said.
He emphasized that the police force remains committed to supporting major city events while prioritizing public safety.
“The DCPO remains steadfast in its mission to protect the community. We want both residents and visitors to fully enjoy the festivities, knowing that their safety is our top priority,” he added.
The DCPO reiterated its dedication to maintaining peace and order during large-scale gatherings, highlighting its role in preserving the spirit of unity and celebration that defines Davao City’s annual festivities.
Muarip said that with heightened security and coordinated efforts, authorities reported that Parada Dabawenyo 2026 concluded without major incidents, allowing Dabawenyos and visitors to celebrate safely.
