The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emergency Socioeconomic Crisis Response (IATF-CRISIS) has approved and adopted its first set of resolutions aimed at mitigating the impact of rising fuel prices and economic disruptions in Davao City.
The measures were approved during the task force’s first regular meeting on Monday, following the issuance of Executive Order No. 07, Series of 2026 by Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, which created the inter-agency body.
Among the approved resolutions is a directive requiring all offices of the city government of Davao to reduce fuel consumption by 15 percent, with exemptions granted to priority sectors such as emergency and health services.
The task force also approved a temporary policy denying requests for motorcades within the city for the duration of the fuel crisis, in order to ease fuel demand and reduce unnecessary road use.
The task force stressed that this is a practical step to minimize non-essential fuel consumption and help decongest traffic. It also emphasized that motorcades, while customary, can be deferred in light of the current situation.
In addition, the body adopted recommendations from the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) on energy efficiency and conservation measures across all city government offices.
Under the resolution, the measures are designed not only as short-term responses but also to instill long-term efficiency practices within offices.
The IATF-CRISIS, established through Duterte’s executive order, brings together key city departments and national government agencies under a whole-of-government approach to address the socioeconomic effects of volatile fuel prices.
The task force is mandated to respond swiftly to fuel price increases, stabilize the cost of basic commodities, safeguard employment, and ensure the continuous delivery of essential public services.
“We are taking a proactive and coordinated approach to cushion the impact on our people. Our priority is to protect livelihoods while maintaining stability in the city,” Duterte said.
