DCPO logs 148 arrests in weeklong anti-crime drive

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported a total of 148 arrests in a weeklong series of law enforcement operations, highlighting intensified efforts against illegal drugs, gambling, wanted persons, and loose firearms.

In its accomplishment report covering April 26 to May 2, 2026, DCPO said the operations were carried out with support from the community and local officials.

DCPO conducted 47 anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 55 suspects. Authorities also confiscated 238.9764 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.62 million, and 153.96 grams of marijuana worth P18,475.20.

DCPO reported that 17 anti-illegal gambling operations led to the arrest of 33 individuals, the confiscation of P13,319 in bet money, and the filing of 17 cases.

Meanwhile, DCPO shared that 52 operations targeting wanted persons resulted in the arrest of 52 individuals, including 25 listed as most wanted.

DCPO stated that the operations against loose firearms totaled 24, leading to the arrest of eight suspects while police seized nine firearms, recorded 12 surrendered firearms, one recovered firearm, and five turned in for safekeeping, with eight cases filed.

DCPO City Director Col. Peter Madria, the 148 arrests reflect DCPO’s continuing campaign against criminality while observing proper procedures.

“These achievements reflect not only the dedication of the men and women of DCPO but also the strong partnership with the community, barangay officials, and the Local Government Unit. Together, we continue to build a safer and more peaceful Davao City,” Madria said.
