DITO Telecommunity officially launched the DITO BizBayani Awards in Davao City on Tuesday, encouraging micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Davao Region to join the nationwide search for Filipino entrepreneurs who exemplify innovation, resilience, and meaningful community impact.
The awards program aims to recognize MSMEs that have demonstrated strong business growth, digital adoption, and contributions to local development, highlighting their role in driving both regional and national economic progress.
Speaking during the launch, Niño Nanquil, Regional VisMin MSME Head of DITO, urged the public to nominate entrepreneurs and businesses that have made a positive impact in their communities.
“I am incredibly proud to announce that nominations for the DITO BizBayani Awards are officially open. If you know an MSME owner who has shown exceptional resilience, if you have worked with an entrepreneur who has transformed their community, or if you yourself have dared to build against the odds, we want to see you, and the nation needs to celebrate you,” Nanquil said.
Louie Rovillos, Community Engagement Lead of DITO, said MSMEs remain central to inclusive economic growth and nation-building.
Rovillos added that the awards program was created to recognize Filipino MSMEs and entrepreneurs who continue to move the country forward through innovation, resilience, creativity, and determination.
“Every small business has a story, a story of sacrifice, growth, and taking risks despite uncertainty. Through this platform, we want to celebrate those stories and give deserving entrepreneurs the recognition they truly deserve,” Rovillos said.
The competition is open to Filipino-owned MSMEs that have been operating for at least two years and possess valid business registration and proof of operations. Nominees must also demonstrate innovation, business expansion, digital adoption, or community impact, depending on their category.
