The House prosecution panel is preparing to present more than 30 witnesses in the upcoming impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, according to reports.

House Lead Prosecutor Rep. Gerville Luistro said on Monday, that the prosecution is finalizing its pre-trial brief for submission to the Senate Impeachment Court, which will include the official list of witnesses and supporting evidence.

Luistro noted that the number of witnesses is still being finalized but is expected to exceed initial estimates. She declined to provide full details, saying the document was still being completed.

The prosecution’s witness list is expected to include government officials, auditors, records custodians, financial experts, investigators, and other individuals tied to the allegations against the vice president, suggesting a broad evidentiary presentation.

Under Senate impeachment rules, both the prosecution and defense are required to disclose their witnesses and evidence during the pre-trial stage, which helps define the scope of the trial and determine which facts may be admitted without further proof.

The Senate Impeachment Court is scheduled to hold its pre-trial conference on June 18, 2026, where both sides will formally present their witness lists, evidence, and legal arguments.

Meanwhile, Duterte has denied all allegations, describing the impeachment case as politically motivated. Her legal team has maintained that the charges lack factual and legal basis and is expected to submit its own pre-trial brief outlining its defense and witnesses.
