The City Government of Davao underscored infrastructure development as a key priority during the 2026 Visayas-Mindanao Regional Housing Conference organized by the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders’ Associations, Inc. (CREBA) at the SMX Convention Center at SM Lanang Premier on Friday.
Delivering the message of Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, Councilor Diosdado Mahipus Jr. said the city remains committed to advancing infrastructure and urban planning to support sustainable and disaster-resilient communities.
“We continue to strengthen our collective efforts to advance urban development and innovative infrastructure planning to create safer and more resilient spaces,” the mayor’s message stated.
The conference, themed “PADAYON: VisMin Unlocked — Strengthening VisMin as the Philippines’ New Growth Corridor,” highlighted the role of sustainable housing, infrastructure, and public-private partnerships in addressing the region’s growing urban development needs.
Mahipus said the gathering provides an opportunity for the government and the private sector to collaborate on practical solutions that will help build stronger and more resilient communities across the Visayas and Mindanao.
He also invited delegates to experience Davao City and witness the resilience of its people.
“We showcase Davao City as a model of the greatness of the Philippines in the years to come,” he said.
The conference brought together key stakeholders from the government, business, finance, and housing sectors to discuss strategies for sustainable urban development and regional growth.
