
The City Government of Davao has allocated more than P68 million for the staging of Kadayawan Festival 2026, reinforcing its commitment to boost tourism, local businesses, and the city’s economy through one of Mindanao’s biggest annual celebrations.
During the Kadayawan Festival 2026 media launch at Acacia Hotel Davao on Wednesday, City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) head Willenito Tormis Jr. said this year’s festival has a budget of more than P68 million.
Carrying the theme “We Are One, KadayaONE,” Tormis said this year’s festival highlights unity, resilience, and gratitude while celebrating Davao City’s rich cultural heritage and bountiful harvest.
The City Government, through the CTOO, also unveiled the official Kadayawan Festival 2026 logo and presented the festival calendar, giving stakeholders and visitors an early look at the lineup of activities expected to draw thousands of local and international tourists.
The tourism industry also expressed readiness for the in flux of visitors.
Nicole Hao Bian-Ledesma, president of the Davao Tourism Association (DATA), said hotels and accommodation establishments are prepared to accommodate guests throughout the festival.
According to the Department of Tourism Regional Office 11, Davao City currently has around 6,000 DOT-accredited rooms, ensuring sufficient accommodation capacity for tourists expected to attend the month-long celebration.
Tormis said the festival is expected to generate increased spending for hotels, restaurants, transport operators, retailers, and other tourism-related enterprises, providing a significant economic boost to Davao City’s business community during the Kadayawan season.
