The Mindanao Trade Expo (MTE) is setting its sales target at around P12 million over five days as about 130 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from various industries showcase their products at the 35th Mindanao Business Conference.
Marian Comilang, executive director of the Mindanao Trade Expo, said the event, which is being held at the activity center of Ayala Malls Abreeza, features a diverse lineup of businesses, highlighting the growing competitiveness of Mindanao-made products in the retail market.
“The initial gathering namin of MSMEs who will be participating [in] the MTE is approximately 130 MSMEs, and we are expecting like P12 million [in] sales for the five days,” Comilang said during Wednesday’s Habi at Kape.
Comilang described the expo as a multisectoral retail showcase, bringing together producers and manufacturers offering a wide range of consumer products.
The expo features crafts, home-style products, wearables and fashion accessories, alongside agricultural and food products under its “Abundance of Harvest” segment.
“These are the producers and manufacturers of crafts, home-style, wearables, fashion accessories, and we also have our outdoor, the Abundance of Harvest. Our fruits, vegetables, and processed food,” Comilang said.
Comilang added that beyond generating direct sales, the expo is expected to give participating MSMEs greater access to consumers, potential buyers and new markets, providing opportunities to expand their retail reach.
She said the projected P12 million in sales over five days reflects the potential of trade exhibitions to increase consumer exposure and create stronger market opportunities for Mindanao-based enterprises.
