CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano said he is planning to establish a China Town in the city which will accommodate different business establishments.
The Mayor noted that a number of Chinese investors are interested to open their branches here.
He said “Ako kining gilaraw, uban sa mga sakop sa mayoriya sa konseho, sa tuyo nga maka-abin kita sa mga chinese investors nga mobubo sa ilang mga patigayon dinhi sa dakbayan. Kay daghan man gayud mga negosyanteng Intsek ang buot moabli sa negosyo dinhi sa Cagayan de Oro.
(I have actually planned this with members of the majority block of the City Council with the hope of attracting the Chinese investors who want to establish their businesses here).
Mayor Emano, who is known as the Father of Modern Cagayan de Oro, was recently invited by local businessmen to lead a trade mission to China in order to meet with Chinese businessmen and invite them to invest in the city. [CIO/PIA 10]
