At least 18 exhibitors of products that are licensed to Product Standards (PS) will be highlighted during the Regional Consumer Fair on October 18-19 at the Activity Center of NCCC Mall, Davao City.
The PS stickers are stuck on locally produced-products with mandatory standards. This signifies that they have passed the standards for quality and safety set for such products.
Among the products that will be showcased are ceramic tiles, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes, various construction materials and electrical products.
Aside from the local manufacturers, the Philippine Product Safety and Quality Foundation, Incorporated (PPSQF) will also showcase the PS certified products of their members who are based in Metro Manila. For comparison, some uncertified products will also be shown.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Davao Regional Director Marizon S. Loreto said that by presenting the certified and uncertified ones, the public will have the opportunity to identify which should be bought. [DTI 11/Jen Mendoza]
