The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. formalized their partnership with Liwanag World Festival 2013 after a special board meeting heldlastJanuary 3, 2013 led by newly-inducted president Architect Daniel Lim together with Board Members Antonio dela Cruz (Executive VP), Myrna Valdez (VP for Trade and Commerce), Engr. Wilfred Teves (VP for Agribusiness), and Arch. Agatha Valencia (VP for Professional and Service Ventures). “The DCCCII fully supports the Liwanag World Festival. We are actively encouraging our members to join this event as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility Program.” Mr. Lim emphasized during the press conference held at Rue Mango Apartelle and Suites, along Juna Subdivision, Matina this morning.He also mentioned about the on-going conversations about implementing environment-friendly architecture in businesses. “Buildings are the biggest contributor to carbon emissionsnext to vehicles, that’s why we are now encouraging companies to use sustainable practices such as solar energy, rainwater catchment facilities and LED lights in their buildings, especially for malls,”a strategy which is aligned with the advocacy of Liwanag World Festival.
TheLiwanag World Festival on Creativity and Sustainability2013 happening from January 29 until February 2, 2013 at the Philippine Women’s College of Davao, features several world renowned movers in the different spheres of society such as Mr. Seth Jordan, co-founder and co-initiator of Think Outward and Occupy Wallstreet, who will speak about the “Global impact and message of the Occupy Wallstreet Movement”; Mr. Bruce Cryer, Global Director of Heart Math Health Care, talking about “Revolutionary Discoveries in the Science of the Heart and Its Relevance to Creativity and Societal Sustainability” and by Ms. Barbara Marx Hubbard, President, Foundation for Conscious Evolution who will tell audiences “The New Story of the Universe and the Future of Humanity.”
