Authentic Ilocano flavors will be served Wednesday night to formally welcome over a hundred delegates to the ongoing Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) forum in this city.
Hosted by the Ilocos Norte government under the administration of Governor Ma. Imelda Josefa Marcos at the Malacanang of the North, the dinner will feature traditional Ilocano foods such as “pakbet”, “bagnet”, “longganisa” and empanada.
As an expression of Ilocano hospitality, the governor invited the delegates to a welcome dinner in order to let them experience the best Ilocos Norte has to offer.
Aside from gastronomic delights, there will be classic entertainment also to highlight the rich culture and traditions of the Ilocanos.
Sprawled on a five-hectare property next to the scenic Paoay Lake, the Malacanang of the North used to be the official residence of the family of the late former President Ferdinand E. Marcos.
It has been converted into a presidential museum and is being frequented by foreign and domestic tourists. It is also a favorite spot for wedding venues and state dinners of important visitors to Ilocos Norte. (PNA)
