Davao City is the new growth area of RedDoorz.
Tech-enabled accommodation platform RedDoorz is eyeing to open four properties in Davao City in two months.

“We have four partners scheduled to open this September and October this year with locations within the city and along Lanang,” said Stephanie Irma, RedDoorz Philippines country head, during its Davao City official launch on Thursday.

RedDoorz entered Davao City four months ago. But it was during Kadayawan sa Davao 2019 that it took a leap and in a span of two months, has opened 26 properties here with locations including Matina, Poblacion, and near the airport.

Irma cited factors they considered in opening a property include proximity to the hospital, airport, and malls.

“These kinds of public demands where traffic is in and out. We are okay with any kind of location as long as the business model wherein hotel as a partner get our standards. We do not exactly really mind with a lot of location because we go even to the smaller cities like Tacloban which is very far,” she added.

Raenald De Jesus, country marketing manager of RedDoorz Philippines said they captured the” practical” market, which is 40 percent in Davao City while the remaining are business and leisure clients.

“In Davao there is a lot of practical versus travel clients. Practical caters to travelers looking for some place to stay. Practical are those who need to be near the school, university at may traffic. Here in Davao we see a lot of practical market,” he said.

He added that after Kadayawan and until now, the occupancy rate is consistently not lower than 70 percent.

“The growth has been consistent. For example, the Kadayawan last month pero even now na hindi Kadayawan the occupancy rate has been consistent. We are always on the growth trajectory,” De Jesus said.

Tagged as Southeast Asia’s largest and fastest-growing hotel management and booking platform, RedDoorz continues to expand across Philippines by adding 5,000 additional room nights from now until the end of the year. The new hotels will be strategically positioned across key metro districts and in major cities in province’s across the country by the end of this year.

Irma said after Davao City and General Santos, other areas in Mindanao they are looking to expand this year is Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga.

RedDoorz will be opening new properties in tourist heavy destinations like Boracay, Bohol, Antique, Capiz, Dumanguete, Tacloban, and Negros Occidental.

RedDoorz has been pioneering the hotel and hospitality sector in Southeast Asia since the company was formed in 2015. It now offers three categories of hotel including RedDoorz, RedDoorz Plus and RedDoorz Premium wherein each is offering a varying degree of value properties including clean rooms complete with clean bedsheets, free WiFi connectivity and essential amenities.

“This is staying in a very nice facilities without spending too much,” De Jesus said.
