Pump prices of gasoline are set to roll back for the second straight week today, while those of diesel will be hiked.
In separate advisories, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., Seaoil Philippines Corp., and Caltex announced that the prices per liter of gasoline will decrease by P2.00, while that of kerosene will be slashed by P0.50.
Prices of diesel, meanwhile, will increase by P0.40 per liter.
Cleanfuel, PTT, and Petro Gazz will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.
The adjustments will take effect 6 a.m. on Tuesday, October 3, for all the firms except Caltex which will implement it at 12:01 a.m.
Oil companies usually announce price adjustments every Monday, to be implemented on the following day.
The Department of Energy (DOE) Oil Industry Management Bureau earlier attributed the adjustment to the higher interest rate, stronger dollar, and the relaxation of Russia’s fuel import ban.
Last week, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. lowered the prices per liter of gasoline and diesel by P0.20 each, and kerosene by P0.50. Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz also did the same, minus kerosene.
