Cemetery operations collection is up: CEE

The Davao City Economic Enterprises (CEE) reported an increase in the revenue collection of the city’s cemetery operations in 2024.

Maximo Macalipes Jr., Economic Enterprise Manager, said the revenue collection of the city’s cemetery operations reached P20,560,609.95, which is 6.46 percent higher than its 2023 collection of P19,312,232.81.

Macalipes added that the biggest contributors to this collection are the Wireless and Toril Public Cemeteries.

“As of December 2024, units like Toril and Wireless have emerged as top contributors, generating P4,708,790.97 and P3,178,804.84, respectively, nearing or surpassing their targets,” he said.

Macalipes added that this achievement “highlights the efficient management of resources and services provided across all units.”

Ten (10) public cemeteries and a public crematorium are being managed by the CEE. These are the Bunawan Public Cemetery, Calinan Public Cemetery, Davao City Crematorium, Maa Public Cemetery, Mintal Public Cemetery, Panacan Public Cemetery, Tagakpan Public Cemetery, Tibungco Public Cemetery, Toril (Lubogan) Public Cemetery, Tugbok Public Cemetery, and Wireless Public Cemetery.

The CEE continues to conduct rehabilitation operations, preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs and other measures to ensure efficient operations in the city’s cemeteries.

Macalipes said that a significant milestone in the cemetery operations in 2024 was the opening of the newly rehabilitated Tagakpan Public Cemetery in May. (CIO)
