PAL to offer more flights to Seattle

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to fly to Seattle five times a week starting this November.

In a statement, the flag carrier said it will be flying from Manila to Seattle on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting November 25, in addition to its already existing Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday trips.

PAL President Richard Nuttall said the decision to increase their Seattle flights stresses the importance of the US market to the airline’s global network.

“We are focusing strongly on developing this growing market to help Americans plan their vacation trips to the Philippines and other Asian countries, to open up more opportunities for businesses to build up commercial activities, and for Filipino Americans to reunite more often with their families back in the home country,” he said.

PAL first launched Manila to Seattle flights in Octoberlast year.

The route is the only direct airline link between the Philippines and the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

Despite current geopolitical and economic uncertainties, Philippine Airlines is going ahead with its fleet upgrade to meet the expected rise in demand for air travel in the coming years. In the last quarter of the year, it will bring the first Airbus A350-1000 large widebody aircraft to the country.

PAL Holdings vice president Captain Stanley K. Ng also said that the company is improving its customer service in order to boost its business.
