PAL suspends Dubai, Doha flights until April 30 amid security risks

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has suspended its flights between Manila and major Middle East hubs, including Dubai and Doha, until April 30, citing ongoing security concerns in the region.

The affected routes include Manila–Dubai–Manila (PR 658/659) and Manila–Doha (PR 684/685), with an additional Doha–Manila service scheduled for May 1 also canceled.

PAL said the temporary suspension is a precautionary step in response to the evolving security situation in parts of the Middle East, which has impacted airspace operations and raised safety concerns.

“The safety of our passengers, crew, and aircraft remains our highest priority,” the airline said, noting that the move was necessary while conditions remain uncertain.

The airline added it is closely monitoring developments and coordinating with aviation authorities to determine when it is safe to resume normal operations.

Passengers affected by the cancellations may choose to rebook their flights once services resume, convert their tickets into travel credits, or request full refunds, subject to existing policies.

PAL said its customer service teams are assisting travelers through its website, contact centers, and ticketing offices.

The airline also noted that many passengers on these routes are overseas Filipino workers who depend on regular flights between the Philippines and the Middle East.

In addition to passenger services, cargo operations on the affected routes have also been disrupted, with efforts underway to reroute essential shipments.

PAL said it will continue to assess the situation and adjust its operations as necessary as developments in the region unfold.
