Sometimes, you just need to go for it and eventually make it work. Everything need not be perfect the first time around — it should only be that you never lost your drive, motivation and dedication in seeing the result you have envisioned. And this applies to everything.
El Savores Davao is one of the most recent gastronomic places to open its doors to the city. Comfortingly beautiful, El Savores Davao is a vision of laidback and majestic feel that’s easy on the senses — even before you take a seat, browse the menu, place an order and eat.
Their menu is like a treasure chest of Filipino cuisine goodness. The marriage of flavours acts as a gentle reminder on the palate — a childhood reminder of memories and moments with family and friends. Personally, my palate relates well with the fusion of flavours — it’s Filipino yet with the taste and depth of Muslim cuisine. It speaks verily of home, for me that is. And I guarantee, that at the end of your meal, you’d also love the flavours of my culture.
Appetizers include plateful of sliced potato with beef, cheese and beef bacon. They also have a 3 of a kind cheese sticks served with garlic aioli and tomato sauce. Each dip pairs well with the deep fried cheese sticks. Adventurous? Try them both at once. I did.
Any dining experience won’t be complete without a bowl of soup on the table. Here, you can enjoy a bowl of Champion Pochero cooked with Australian beef shanks or enjoy some Seafood Sinigang on any given day. True enough, every higop will remind you of home.
Pasta lovers rejoice! A plate of beef bacon and mushroom pasta will surely have you craving for more. Pechay and cream pesto? Yes! At El Sabores, they create dishes that are not only delish but something that are not easy to forget. Their Pechay and Cream Pesto pasta is blended pechay in cream, nuts and basil. Yum.
Cheese salad? Who would not love this? Plate of mozzarella, cheddar, feta and parmesan. With greens and balsamic vinaigrette — now this is one helluva of dairy goodness in one plate!
They also serve burgers (big, meaty burger goodness served with crunchy fries on the side), local and imported steak (aways, always have your steak medium well for a juicy steak experience) and rice bowls (of meat, rice, veggies and sauces that compliments the meal to a T).
The Rev’s express is one dish you should not miss. Beef ribs braised in coconut milk and shrimp paste with salted egg salsa on the side is just what you need to end a tiring week. Beef rendang, anyone? Theirs is what you’d call a calories-don’t-care kind of meal. It truly is worth every calorie!
Another must have is their chicken pianggang — marinated chicken in black coconut served with jambalaya rice wrapped in fried egg. Mouthful? Yup. Delish? Of course.
Don’t forget their dessert and cake choices baked by Real Confections for that perfect meal ender. Or starter even.
El Savores is located at Dona Vicenta Village, Surveyor street, Jacinto extension, Davao City. Again, congratulations!
