Globe goes green at LCF CSR Expo

Globe Telecom spearheaded efforts to make the 9th LCF Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Expo an environment-friendly and “green” conference. The event, held last July 14-15 utilized a paperless evaluation system for exhibitors and attendees, courtesy of laptop computers provided by Globe. The use of electronic evaluation saved a total of 1,155 pieces of printed forms—roughly equivalent to nine trees.
The Globe booth, one of the exhibition booths of more than 70 organizations involved in CSR, utilized the power of technology to showcase its various social responsibility programs. Instead of printing various materials like reports and brochures, Globe used an iPad equipped with a Globe micro-SIM to showcase its pioneering CSR and Sustainability Report. Globe also used digital frames to show its various Globe Bridging Communities programs in environment, education, entrepreneurship, community involvement, and volunteerism. By going paperless, Globe has saved more than 40 trees.
With the theme “Synergizing for Change,” the Expo, spearheaded by The League of Corporate Foundations (LCF), focused on the need for more effective collaboration among various stakeholders to achieve real and lasting positive change.
